"...like an old record found at the bottom of a flea-market stack, jacket yellowed at the corners, vinyl scuffed with wear and smelling of myserty... The album is haunted by murded children, gamblers, angry people with guns and other lost sould who fill narratives with lush images..." -- DALLAS OBSERVER

"...beautifully organic music ... that it's so varied, some people will simply scratch their heads." -- DALLAS STAR-TELEGRAM

"Alt-country orchestral pop? Ambient honky tonk? And as for potential influences, fathom this -- how can a band manage to remind you of The Velvet Underground and Steely Dan, yet not really sound much like either?" -- FORT WORTH WEEKLY

The debut full-length from Fort Worth's The Theater Fire is an unique out-cropping in the landscape of Texas music. Carefully combining traditional country music influences with mariachi, folk, and blues infused rock the band create a complex and layered sound which is at the same time sparse and well focused.

Forget all you know about "cowboy-chic", this is modern Texas music. The band are masterful storytellers weaving tales of gamblers, lonely travelers, and murdered children. This blends with the music to create a dusty, faded mood. Like strange dreamy desert landscapes the music passes slowly by.

The Theater Fire have grown into a mainstay in the North Texas music scene deserving of national attention. The band is composed of seven members who have played together in various incarnations since 2000. With such an large ensemble one is left wondering how a band manages to create such balanced, focused, and engaging music with so many performers. Instrumentation includes a pawn-shop medley of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, pedal steel, keyboards, trumpet, mandolin, accordion, xylophone, banjo, violin, lap steel, trombone, and various percussion.

So, when your ears are looking for something new. Something challenging. Something wonderful. The Theater Fire are there for you.
